Study: Most physicians still accepting Medicare patients - FierceHealthFinance - Health Finance, Healthcare Finance

from facebook post by Dr Abbes: I'll let them cut my income by 22% if they cut Chris's income by 22%. Of course we will have to close almost 50 % of area hospitals who depend heavily on that money. You may have to go to Canada and seek asylum if you get sick and need a hospital.. How's your appendix, gallbladder, and cholesterol these days? How about your families', friends' ? Perhaps you have Grand parents, yes? Care about your neighbors, school mates, others much? What if a large earthquake hits LA? What do you do if there are no hospitals? Have you seen what happened in Hati or Katrina? And guess where they train doctors? Yup. Hospitals. So I hope you like your foreign trained docs cause thats all your gonna get. Can you say, "me duele aqui!" Or maybe we can import those from China too.
The health of those that live around you even if you don't care about them is important because TB, typhoid, Dengue fever, cholera, West Nile virus, and the plague don't care who you are. They spread from person to person even if you are rich and will kill you. Let the poor get sick and every body will get sick! Can you say, "bring out your dead!" (the plague killed 30-60 % of the European population). Only 70 -80 percent of doctors accpet Medicare and about 50% Medi Cal (or Medicaid) today. Medicare pays less than 75% of what private insurance pays. Doctors are already dropping it by the boat load. Cut it and you'll kill Grandma for sure!
