Generation-in-between

Okay. Very cool. Even for a techno geek in his er...ah...40's...ish...you know, older than some of these other blogs (an internet version of what used to be known as a journal).
Apparently, my age group (at 44 I am at the very tail end of the baby boom, rebels with a cause...peace, stop the vietnam war, meat kills, feminism, PETA, and the list goes on) are too young to be part of the baby boomer generation (yuppies and such).

It seems, I, and my cohorts, are also too old to be generation X'ers. X'ers embody grundge, can be characterized as rebels without a cause etc. Really now, what are you so depressed and pissed about? The World Bank Policies, Social Security, your expanding waitstlines, Jay-Lo's dresses, who will be the next American Idol, can you eat worms like those on Fear Factor?

So, we have been called generation-in-between. Hmmm? And apparently we share some of the characteristics of both of these groups. Which ones? Who cares, right? Well, being in between, you'll note that "generation in between" can blend in with either group. We can talk Dow Jones and real estate witht he baby boomers and relate to thetribal councils decisions on Survivor, but we are never completely comfortable in either aquarium. Nor are we completely invested by either group. Too young to stress about our IRA's and too old to pierce and tatoo our entire bodies, we wander about in our limbo existence until we collide with one of our own. Then boom we emerse ourselves in our love of Led Zepplin and equally of Brittney, Paris, and Nelly.

Things that make you go Hmmmmmm.
